Elaine is the partner that leads the firm’s Tax Department together with Stephen Balzan.

Over the past years, Elaine has assisted a number of international and local clients in their tax compliance requirements and in the setup of complex cross-border structures through the use of Maltese limited liability companies. Apart from her experience in international tax matters, she also has extensive knowledge on corporate matters and on company law. She has also advised a number of foreign direct investors and local enterprises in obtaining incentives from Malta Enterprise.
During 2016, Elaine has attended a course on Trust Law organized by the International Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) leading to the conferral of the certificate in Trust Law and Management. Later on in 2018, she has successfully achieved the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) accredited by the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). The overall standard of ADIT is comparable to a postgraduate qualification and has provided Elaine with a robust foundation in international tax.
Apart from her career in the tax field, Elaine forms part of the Audit Committee of the Gozo Regional Development Authority. In 2017, Elaine joined the Council of the Gozo Business Chamber (GBC), where she currently holds the office of a Secretary of the Chamber. Elaine is also a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) and the Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT).
During the past years, Elaine has delivered a number of presentations on various topics on taxation and is the writer of various articles on local and international taxation.
