We are looking for motivated individuals to join the firm’s tax department on a full-time basis. The individual should be either ACCA qualified or having obtained a Masters in Accountancy from the University of Malta. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Maltese Income Tax laws and at least two (2) years’ experience working on a full time basis in tax compliance work.
Main duties include preparation of both corporate and individuals’ income tax returns, preparation of claims for refund of tax, preparation of other statutory forms, exchange of correspondence with clients and Maltese income tax authorities, answering to clients’ queries as well as providing general assistance and advice to the firm’s clients on their tax affairs.
The chosen candidate is required to keep himself or herself up to date with the current income tax legislative framework and to be knowledgeable on a number of Maltese tax issues including capital gains, the refundable tax credit system, consolidated income tax rules, relief from double taxation and other tax issues. A general understanding of basic international tax principles will be considered to be an asset.
A sound academic preparation, a positive attitude, the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and the capability to work in a team are all attributes which we are looking for in the individuals whom we would like to form part of the ACT team.
