ACT is a multi-disciplinary firm made up of young, dynamic and experienced professionals providing Advisory, Corporate, Tax and other related services to an extensive array of international corporate and private clients. We are a boutique firm, providing a comprehensive range of accountancy, tax advisory and tax compliance services as well as a variety of other specialist corporate services.
Due to the growth which the firm has experienced over the past months, we are looking for a motivated individual to join the firm’s tax department on a full-time basis, to take up a senior role as a Tax Executive within the firm’s tax department. The individual should be a fully qualified accountant with a minimum of two years of experience in direct taxation.
Main duties include:
- Preparation of both personal and corporate income tax returns
- Preparation of income tax computations
- Preparation of claims for refunds of tax
- Preparation of the pertinent documentation in relation to the transfer of shares in Maltese companies
- Exchange of correspondence with clients and with Maltese income tax authorities
- Answering to clients’ queries as well as providing general assistance and advice to the firm’s clients on their tax affairs
The chosen candidate is required to have a good understanding of domestic tax legislation including but not limited to the taxation of capital gains on transfer of shares, the taxation on transfers of immovable property, the refundable tax credit system, double taxation relief, schemes applicable to individuals granting them a special tax status and the taxation of private individuals on various sources of income such as employment income, business profits, royalties, interests and dividends amongst others. He or she is also required to keep himself or herself abreast of the continuous changes and updates to both Maltese and international tax legislation.
A sound academic preparation, a positive attitude, the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and the capability to work in a team are all attributes which we are looking for in the individuals whom we would like to form part of the ACT team.
