ACT will be organising a second seminar on the GDPR, this time in Gozo. This will be organized in collaboration with the Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) on the 17th April 2018 at 2pm. The aim of the seminar is to provide the firm’s clients established in Gozo and members of the GBC with a general overview of the principles and application of the GDPR. A number of case studies will be discussed to identify data processing good practices.
Dr. Karl Sammut of sammut.legal (www.sammut.legal) will be delivering this presentation. He is a commercial lawyer specialising in business, technology and intellectual property, and has extensive experience in data protection and privacy related issues.
The revamped EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective as of the 25 May 2018 introduces stringent data protection and privacy obligations on all persons and organisations that collect, store or otherwise process personal data, irrespective of the size of the organisation and the processing being undertaken. Failure to comply with the provisions of the GDPR has far-reaching economic consequences including the imposition of hefty fines to 4% of total global annual turnover or €20 million.
Please send us an email on [email protected] by not later than the 11th April 2018 if you are interested to attend. The seminar will be free of charge and will be held at the offices of the Gozo Business Chamber (The Brokerage – Level 4A, St Marta Street Victoria) on 17th April 2018 at 2pm and is expected to finish around 5pm.
Please book your place in advance as the number of attendees will be limited. Places will be reserved on a first come first served basis.
