By means of Legal Notice 187 of 2020, the Government of Malta has published new Rent Subsidy Regulations, which came into effect on 1st February 2020. The Regulations provide for subsidy assistance to eligible undertakings requiring support to rent industrial space to develop a business activity. The aid shall not exceed €25,000 per annum and shall cover up to 50% of the cost of the rent. The scheme is administered by Malta Enterprise. The Regulations make reference to the terms and conditions as set out in Guidelines, which have now been published by Malta Enterprise. The deadline for submission of applications for assistance is 31 December 2022.
